New Course: CompTIA Cloud Essentials

CBT Nuggets trainer Anthony Sequeira recently released his new Cloud Essentials course, which completes a series of courses preparing you for the CompTIA Cloud Essentials certification. He addresses all the concepts, terminology, and technology covered in the exam.

In this 22-video course, Anthony prepares non-technical learners for using cloud technologies in their businesses. He addresses the technical challenges of running cloud applications, giving you the skills and knowledge to pass the CompTIA Cloud Essentials certification.

Q: Who should use the CompTIA Cloud Essentials training?

Cloud Essentials is an excellent course for any IT professional or enterprise manager needing essential knowledge of cloud characteristics and business impacts. Given the importance of the cloud today, just about everyone should take this course. Even IT staff who have been working with cloud technologies for years might benefit from this course, as they might not be well-versed in the business implications of these technologies.

Q: Why should someone not directly installing the technology care about the technical benefits (and challenges) of cloud applications?

The technical benefits of cloud computing can directly impact the bottom line for expenses and revenues the company can achieve. At the same time, cloud computing can also dramatically increase risks to the business. For these reasons, this course should be viewed by just about anyone today who plays an important role within their organization.

Q: What's the difference between Cloud Essentials and Cloud+?

Cloud Essentials is a concise course that provides a very high-level look into cloud technologies and their business impacts. Cloud+ takes a much more detailed look at cloud technologies and would be too specific and technical for many potential viewers. CompTIA is currently modifying and updating Cloud+ for a new release in 2018. I plan on creating that course for CBT Nuggets when it takes place.

Q: Any out-of-the-box tips for learners to get the most out of this course?

Learners should get ready to have some fun! Seriously! Cloud technologies are so exciting.

Q: What's the most important thing you hope learners take away from this course?

I hope that learners will have a newfound respect for the cloud. It is NOT just an industry buzzword or marketing catchphrase with no real benefit. Cloud can totally permit the breaking of new ground within an organization and can actually mean the difference between an organization surviving and thriving or failing in today's complex business landscape.
