    FAQs

Is the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) EX294 certification worth it?

Yes, the RHCE certification is undeniably worth it. The IT industry has relied on Red Hat Enterprise Linux for decades, and that dependency is deepening and widening. Organizations need administrators with proven administration skills, and the RHCE is a trusted credential that boosts employability and credibility – along with earning potential. If you want a competitive, engaging job in enterprise administration, the RHCE certification is a worthwhile way to set yourself for a career.

How much does the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) EX294 exam cost?

All Red Hat certification exams cost $400, but that doesn't mean the RHCE is going to cost you $400. First, RHCA is a mandatory prerequisite for RHCE, and it has one exam. Second, training and preparation is important for both exams. They're challenging assessments of your familiarity not just with the Red Hat software suite, but also administration skills and knowledge generally. Before training, $800 approximately is the minimum cost you'll pay to earn the RHCE.

How hard is the RHCE EX294 exam?

The Red Hat Certified Engineer certifying exam is tough for a few reasons. First, you have to prove a comprehensive understanding of complex Linux systems – networking, security, and high availability configurations. Secondly, practical skills: you'll need to perform real-world tasks, not just answer questions. Last, you only have 3.5 hours to finish the RHCE exam. That might seem like a lot of time, but it takes good time management to complete every task and answer every question.

Does the Red Hat Certified Engineer certification expire?

Yes, the RHCE EX294 does expire – it's good for three years from the date you earn it. Three years is generous as far as credential expiration goes, but Red Hat doesn't offer much in the way of renewal. The only way to renew the RHCE before it expires is by passing any of the exams that apply toward becoming a Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA). Otherwise, after three years, you'll need to retake the RHCE exam and prerequisites.

Why should you take this Linux RHCE course?

The best way to learn is to do, and that's especially true of Linux administration. This course isn't just a video-based tutorial of Red Hat Enterprise Linux – it features hands-on practice opportunities to get your hands dirty with simulated enterprise networks. The chance to work on realistic, large-scale networks is invaluable, allowing you to apply techniques in a practical setting, troubleshooting real issues, configuring services, and honing your problem-solving skills.

    Who is this for?

This Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) training is considered professional-level Linux training, which means it was designed for system admins. This Red Hat skills course is designed for sysadmins with three to five years of experience with Linux distribution.

    What our learners say

    • When learning a new technology, people sometimes build a wall that complicates the learning process because of the unknown. I like tearing down that wall — and having people fall in love with that technology.

    • Very easy and fun way to learn. Keith Barker is my favorite, he'll throw in jokes here and there and it makes me remember certain study points. I highly recommend this app and purchasing subscriptions, it is truly worth the money.
